In golf, you are faced with a variety of shots/putts that can often make or break your entire golf round. I want to challenge myself to carry a positive mindset into and out of each of these situations. After all, I have hit plenty of awful golf shots, but that doesn’t matter. What is important is how I walk away from a bad shot and still bounce back to make birdie. I think that grit and unrelenting hope can really help dictate one's golf game. When playing golf, you can’t get too high of a birdie and can’t get too low off of a double bogey. The game keeps moving and each hole represents an entirely new opportunity. While I understand that this is much easier said than done, I continuously try to challenge myself to take on this mindset. It can lead to a more positive outlook and this outlook allows for success. One time, I was on pace for my personal scoring record. I had been lights out all day, however the pressure of getting my personal best score started to weigh on me. I bogeyed holes 15 and 16. At this point, I needed to go one under on the last 2 holes, which is no easy task. I could’ve given up after making these 2 bogeys, but instead, I decided to keep on my path and be resilient. I birdied the last 2 holes and ended up shooting an amazing score. Not only was I proud of my score, but I was even more proud of my resilient finish. This is a testament to my goal and the way I always try to approach the game.
